Weight training is a common form of strength training and can help you achieve the goals that you desire. There are many types of plans that we can do for weight training, we can work together to find out your goals and how we can achieve them in your timeline.

TRX is a form of suspension training that uses body weight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. It requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer, a performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to complete the exercises.

Biomechanics

The study of the mechanics of a living body, especially of the forces exerted by muscles and gravity on the skeletal structure.

The mechanics of a part or function of a living body, such as of the heart or of locomotion.

HIIT Training

High-intensity interval training (HIIT), is a form of interval training, a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods, until too exhausted to continue. Though there is no universal HIIT session duration, these intense workouts typically last under 30 minutes, with times varying based on a participant’s current fitness level.

Weight Managment

Weight management can be tricky for some people, and along with a good diet, the right exercise can help you achieve you goal weight and maintain it, in a healthy way! I have many clients that have suffered from weight management issues and struggle with slow metabolism and easy weight gain/loss. I strongly believe that tailoring a training program to the unique requirements of each client is essential for optimal results. Before commencing any form of training program, I take each client through their uniquely designed functional movement and postural assessment developing a thorough and complete understanding of how you are moving, functioning and performing. I then use the information gathered in these assessments to optimise and completely personalise your unique training plan specifically designed to get you optimal results in the safest and quickest time possible.

I was a member at Queen’s Park a few years ago and I was finding it hard to motivate myself to train. Also when I was in the gym I was pretty aimless and had no clue what I was doing. I noticed Kev training his clients and it looked really fun and challenging. I decided to contact Kev and we started training. Kev is amazing. Not only does he make training fun and something to look forward to, but he is unbelievably knowledgeable! I have had a series of injuries from football etc and he has always sorted me out and fixed the problem.

I first met Kev about 6 years ago in 2012.  At that time I was looking for someone to take my training to the next level, someone to push me and someone who could make my workouts more interesting.  A small piece of me also thought I would be able to surprise Kev with my level of fitness as at the time I was training 3 days a week in the gym, playing tennis 3 days a week and doing the occasional run (I had even completed a marathon in the not too distant past).

This last thought was very quickly laid to rest when I had to run to the toilets 45 minutes into our first training session because I thought I was going to throw up!

Kev has definitely opened my eyes to the fact that strength and fitness mean very little without a 3rd crucial element: flexibility.  I am now stronger and fitter than I was in my 20’s thanks to my weekly training sessions with Kev.  The hour I spend with him every Wednesday is more effective than two 1 ½  sessions I used to spend in the gym by myself or with a training partner.  6 years on and every session is still as involved and interesting as the first session I did with him.  Added to this, his knowledge of biomechanics ensures that all my exercises are done technically correctly to help eliminate the risk of injury.

To top it all off he is a really great guy who is always happy to see you and provide you with the motivation for you to get the best out of each session.

I have been working with Kevin for around 4 years and have always struggled with weight issues. I have been up and down in weight my whole life. I am not the biggest fan of the gym and working out, however, since I met Kevin, my weight stayed the same for once, I increased my strength, stamina and overall health beyond my expectations. I stupidly took a year off due to working away and gained so much weight again and lost so much of my progress. I have since returned and am back on the right track with Kevin… after learning a difficult lesson of how important it is to maintain your health. I would highly recommend Kevin, he is a great guy, caring, attentive, great with whatever health issues you have. I would honestly advise you to give him a try and see for yourself how good he is.
